Broom Finish - Economical Concrete Restoration.
Looking for a better and more cost efficient alternative to concrete tear out and replacement? Look no further then our Broom Finish material. In lieu of our decorative material and process, the Broom Finish material and process is a more economical way to resurface old, spalled, or delaminated concrete compared to replacement of deteriorated concrete. Our Broom Finish material is created from the same chemical backbone as our decorative systems. The cured color of the Broom Finish Material matches poured in place concrete identically.
In most cases, the concrete is structurally sound, it is only the surface with cracks, stains, and spalling that is need of repair. Surface spalling is a growing problem with exterior concrete pours, especially in freeze/thaw climates. Removing and replacing the concrete does not solve the problem, you still have unsealed concrete.
Our Broom Finish material utilizes the existing structurally sound concrete. We remove any surface deterioration with water blasting and mechanical grinding. All cracks are repaired and new control joints are cut where needed. The surface deterioration is re-built to the correct elevation. Then, a final broom finish is applied on the surface.
The gray concrete color is “built into” the mix for a beautiful, even surface. An optional seal coat can be installed to provide added protection. The entire restoration process is usually half the cost of tear out and replacement by a reputable contractor.
Foot traffic can return within hours. Vehicle traffic within 5-7 days. The completed Broom Finish surface looks and feels just like a new gray concrete pour. Without the mess and aggravation of tear out and replacement. Most Broom Finish projects can be completed within one day.
